History of The Pantry Peddler

Born and raised on a third generation farm in rural North Dakota, Shellee and Bekki, sisters and creators of The Pantry Peddler, have always been taught to appreciate and value good food as well as its source of origin.

While growing up on the prairie, they quickly found food to be the “reason” for the majority of all family gatherings. Whether it be a fresh batch of homemade doughnuts Grandma Sorenson unveiled from the oven or the delicious, cinnamon-laced kuchen pies Grandma Braun had cooling on the table - no matter the time of day - someone was there patiently waiting to delve into the goodies!

Being daughters of a wheat farmer, both Shellee and Bekki were instilled with the ethics and values their homesteading forefathers had worked so hard to achieve out on the prairie – such as perseverance, patience and a love of the land.  Like their forefathers, being true entrepreneurs at heart, they felt a desire and a need to share "a taste of the prairie" with others and thus in August of 2003, The Pantry Peddler was born.

Keeping in mind that family comes first, most of the Pantry items require only 1-2 added ingredients – yet, once completed, will evoke those same memories of Grandma's homemade doughnuts and cinnamon-laced kuchen.  As we "peddle" our goodies from town to town - we invite you to take a step back in time - and simply indulge in it for a while!

Blessings to you and your family ~
